Terms and Conditions

The contract is between Caroline’s Cake Company (CCC) and “you” (the purchaser of the cake).

By placing an order with CCC, through any medium, you are agreeing to these terms.

These Terms and Conditions are what governs our relationship and any variances are enforceable only with written confirmation from both parties.

When placing an order written confirmation will be provided. Please check carefully and notify, within 2 days of the date of the order, if incorrect.

Deposit

A 50% deposit is required when ordering a cake, with the outstanding balance due no later than one month before the collection/delivery date.

If the final balance for your cake is not received, CCC will not proceed with your order.

Payment is by cash, card, PayPal or cheque made payable to ‘Caroline’s Cake Company’.

All deposits are non-refundable.

Cancellations

If you have to cancel your order for any reason, you will be liable to pay for any costs in excess of the 50% deposit already paid. In addition, if a wedding cake is cancelled within 6 weeks of the wedding date, the full outstanding balance will be payable.

Collection/Delivery

Cakes may be collected from Harborne, Birmingham on the agreed date and time.

Delivery charge details available on request and payable in advance.

Liability

Once collected/delivered, the cake is no longer the responsibility of CCC and we cannot be held liable for any interference with or damage to the completed cake.

No liability will be taken by CCC for any omissions or errors on a cake if it is not viewed by you at an agreed time before collection/delivery.

CCC does not accept liability for indirect or substantial loss suffered.

Data Protection

When placing an order your personal details will be stored but only for use by CCC.  They will not be distributed to a third party.

Storage

Sugar paste (the soft icing covering the cake) is not designed to be refrigerated and as such cakes with this icing should be stored in a cool dry place, preferably in the box they were supplied in, refrigeration may cause colours to run.

It is generally recommended to transport the cake on a piece of foam in the boot of a car to keep it flat and ‘contained’, and keep the interior of the vehicle cool too.

General

The cake may contain nuts or nut products and will be prepared in a kitchen where nuts are used.

The cake may contain wires, jewels and other non-edible products. It is yours or your caterer’s responsibility to ensure that these non-edible products are removed before serving the cake to yourself or your guests.

CCC will endeavour to match any design or colour, all cakes are handmade and therefore differences may occur.  We reserve the right to use our artistic judgement when designing and creating your cake, and may need to adjust your order accordingly.

Privacy Policy
